On September 15, Kidz Bop took the historic Paramount Theater by storm. The popular kids singing and dancing group performed in front of a packed and enthusiastic crowd. Founded 17 years ago, Kidz Bop is comprised of kids aged 10-12 singing a compilation of popular hits of today.
Performing songs such as Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk and DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean, the group caters to people of all ages. The majority of the crowd were parents with their kids aging in range from 4 to 14. Kidz Bop focuses not only on the singing but the dancing as well. They encouraged the audience to get out of their seats and dance in the aisles.
“We love performing in front of audiences,” said Isaiah, 10, one of the four performers from the September 15 show. “We don’t get to select the songs but we usually love the songs that are picked for us.” Isaiah is one of six members of Kidz Bop but only four or five perform any given night to give each other a break from time to time.
The kids continue to tour the country and perform in front of sold out audiences. The tour is a bit of a grind but they find time to study on the road and keep up with their schoolwork. They are also a tight knot group. “These are my best friends,” said Isaiah.
These friends put on a great show in Denver despite feeling the effects of the altitude. In fact, they usually do not take an intermission but needed a 20-minute break at this concert in the mile-high city. They powered through a second half that had everyone dancing and walking out of the theater happy.
They head to Riverside, CA on October 7 and Phoenix, AZ on October 8 next. Visit kidzbop.com/tour/ for more information.
