The year may be 2017, however, those in attendance at the Colorado Springs City Auditorium Saturday, February 11, 2017 were thrust back into the 1990's. The auditorium was alive with people waiting to remember the days when R&B music was alive and well. Performances by Tony Terry, Adina Howard, Shai, and Tony! Toni! Tone! took us all back to the days when MTV and B.E.T. actually played videos and I used to record them to watch at my leisure.
More than 20 years from their heydays, each artist still had a voice and sound that all enjoyed. '90's R&B music lover Christina Jones stated, "For someone who loves 90's R&B, this concert did not disappoint. Every single artist brought their best, every voice was on point, and it made you feel as if you were back in time." Concert goers were also treated to songs from albums to be released this year from Tony Terry, Adina Howard, and Shai. When Tony! Toni! Tone! finally took the stage, the audience was treated to an actual live band with instruments played by all three members, playing all their hits, including my personal favorite "Let's Get Down."
In addition to the actual artists, the audience was entertained by comedian Eddie B., who had many of us in tears from laughter.
For someone who loves music, and misses the days of '90's R&B, this concert was not to be missed. I can't wait to see which '90's R&B artists make their way to Colorado next. For more information about Tony! Toni! Tone!, visit www.tonytonitonemusic.com.
